The incident where a college student drank acid instead of water in Andhra Pradesh, India caused a stir.
Chaitanya, 21, from Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh, is a 3rd year student at a college in Vijayawada.
He went to a shop near his college yesterday and asked for a bottle of water to drink. Chaitanya took a bottle of water from inside and drank it, telling the shop owner to take it out of the fridge.
But it was only when he drank that he knew the acid was in the bottle. Thus burning all over the mouth and intestines. The student, who was screaming in pain, was rushed to a nearby hospital.
Upon learning of this, the police filed a case. When further questioned by the shop owner, he said the student unknowingly took and drank the acid that had been poured near the water bottle in the refrigerator.
Fellow students from the college who came to know about the incident staged a protest demanding the arrest of the shop owner.
