How climate change threatens the British capital
Created by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), this interactive map shows in detail which parts of the world may be affected by sea level rise in the coming years, based on different emission pathways. According to the department, some areas of London may go under water as early as 2030.
These areas will face frequent flooding and may even submerge regularly, writes The Indedendent. In this case, not only the United Kingdom will be threatened, but other countries as well. Thus, climate change can have a serious impact on residents of areas located within a radius of 100 km from the coast. This is especially true for residents of island and lowland states.
Parts of England, including the British capital, were flooded after heavy rains on 8 August. This is the third natural disaster in the UK in recent weeks. In London, there was a disruption in the work of public transport, water completely filled a number of streets.
