It has been reported that the electric train accident at the Chennai Coast Railway Station was due to the negligence of the engine driver.
Last Sunday evening, an electric train lost control and crashed into a platform while being brought from the workshop to the beach train station.
Pavithran, the driver who survived the accident, said it was due to a brake failure. Southern Railway set up an inquiry team of technical experts into the accident.
During its investigation, it was suspected that an accident could have occurred if the driver had shifted the lever to increase the speed in response to the lever to stop the train.
