The actor revealed in 2021 that he had been diagnosed with cancer and underwent surgery to remove a lung tumor in its early stages. He shared optimistic news in 2022, stating that his oncologist had informed him his “lung cancer was cured and that the tumour in my liver was shrinking.” However, in April 2023, Murray disclosed that the cancer had unfortunately returned.
