Pennsylvania’s manufacturing sector receives a boost as QuaLex Manufacturing announces a $1.3 million expansion project in Venango County, poised to generate 35 new employment opportunities. Investment in Venango County Signals Manufacturing Strength
The expansion will involve QuaLex Manufacturing leasing an additional 30,000 to 40,000 square feet of space at its current location. This move reflects the company’s confidence in the region and its dedication to long-term growth. “We’re pleased that we could expand our operations and grow in Venango County, and look forward to being a fixture in the region for years to come,” stated a company representative.
State and Local Support Fuel Growth
The project is being supported by significant financial contributions from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. QuaLex Manufacturing has received a $100,000 Pennsylvania First Grant and a $105,000 WEDnetPA grant specifically earmarked for workforce training. According to a statement from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED), “We’re proud to support QuaLex Manufacturing as they create good-paying jobs and help drive economic growth in Pennsylvania.”
The DCED highlighted Pennsylvania’s strategic advantages for manufacturers, including access to major markets and a highly skilled labor pool. The agency identified the manufacturing industry as a cornerstone of its 10-Year Economic Development Strategy, and this announcement demonstrates tangible progress toward those goals.
QuaLex Manufacturing: A Diverse Fabrication Leader
QuaLex Manufacturing specializes in sheet metal and machining fabrication, producing a range of products from stainless and aluminum components. The company’s portfolio includes critical parts for essential industries, such as fire truck cab assemblies, step ladders, and construction equipment.
Community Collaboration Drives Success
Local officials expressed enthusiasm for the expansion and the positive impact it will have on the Franklin community. “We are grateful to QuaLex for choosing to invest in Franklin and for recognizing the strength of our skilled workforce and vibrant community,” added a business outreach coordinator for the City of Franklin/FICDA. The coordinator also acknowledged the support of Governor Shapiro and the BusinessPA team in attracting this investment to a rural area. FICDA pledged continued support for QuaLex Manufacturing’s future needs.
