Kodaline Announces Final Split, One Last Album on the Horizon

After more than a decade of chart-topping success, Kodaline has announced it’s decision to disband, though the Irish rock band will record one final album before saying goodbye. The news, delivered via a video posted to their Instagram page on Thursday, marks the end of an era for the group known for hits like “Give Me a Minute” and “High Hopes.”
A Bittersweet Farewell
The band – comprised of Steve Garrigan, Vincent May, Mark Prendergast, and Jason Boland – acknowledged the surprise and emotional weight of their decision in a heartfelt message to fans. “after over a decade together we’ve made the challenging decision to say goodbye to Kodaline,” a band member shared in a voiceover accompanying the video. “It might come as a surprise, and it’s definitely bittersweet for us too.”

Despite the split, Kodaline intends to conclude their career on a high note. They plan to enter the studio one last time to record their fifth and final album. “We want it to end on a high, so before we say goodbye, we’re heading into the studio one last time to record our fifth and final album as Kodaline,” the band announced.

From 21 Demands to Kodaline: A Musical evolution
Originally formed in Swords, North County Dublin under the name 21 Demands, the band rebranded as Kodaline in 2012, signaling a shift in their musical direction.Over the years, they released four studio albums: In a perfect World (2013), coming Up for Air (2015), politics of Living (2018), and One Day at a Time (2020).
