Ed Sheeran Deepens Indian Connection with New Remix EP featuring Jonita Gandhi and More
British pop star Ed Sheeran is expanding his musical reach into India with an upcoming EP of remixes, showcasing collaborations with a diverse array of Indian artists and marking a first for his music with the inclusion of Hindi lyrics.
Ed SheeranS recent album, Play, signaled a growing affinity for the Indian market.Now, the artist is solidifying that connection with a forthcoming EP featuring remixes of his tracks with prominent Indian musicians. The project includes a collaboration with Punjabi artist Karan Aujla on “Symmetry” and a joint effort with Hanumankind, Dhee, and Santosh on “Don’t Look Down.” Perhaps most notably, the EP will feature a Hindi-language version of Sheeran’s song “Heaven,” performed alongside Mumbai-based pop artist Jonita Gandhi.
gandhi expressed her excitement about the collaboration, describing it as “really special” and revealing herself as a longtime fan of Sheeran’s work. She shared, “After having the chance to meet him and even open for his concert earlier this year in India, I was blown away by how genuine and grounded he is – and how much he truly appreciates the music and culture here.” While Sheeran previously incorporated Punjabi lyrics into “Sapphire” with Singh, Gandhi emphasized that “Heaven” represents the first time Sheeran has featured Hindi in one of his songs. “I’m so honored to be the one to do it,” she stated. “It’s a lovely love song, and I feel so honored to bring a little bit of my personality and heart into it. I’m so excited for people to here this version!”
Sheeran’s growing engagement with Indian artists extends beyond this EP. He has previously collaborated with Arijit singh on “Sapphire,” shared the stage with Punjabi star Diljit Dosanjh, and announced a partnership with Karan Aujla. An Instagram post featuring Aujla and Norwegian hip hop group Swift Style revealed that the music video for “Symmetry” will be released on the same day as the EP, october 17, 2025.

Gandhi, who opened for Sheeran during his chennai concert in February, contributes a Hindi verse to “Heaven,” amplifying the song’s romantic themes. According to a press release, Gandhi’s lyrics echo the song’s central message – “the feeling of finding home in someone’s arms and falling in love all over again.” The duet maintains a simple arrangement, allowing both artists’ voices to convey the song’s emotional weight with honesty and intimacy.
Gandhi’s own musical journey has been marked by cross-cultural collaborations, including work with Pakistani pop artist Ali Sethi on “Love Like That” and, more recently, with U.K.DJ-producer Sigala and Leigh-Anne of Little Mix on “Hello.” She released her Hindi single “beparwai” in June,produced by Yanchan Produced and Ariza.
Notably, Sheeran is also contributing to a Hindi song for an upcoming film starring actor Shah rukh Khan, further demonstrating his expanding presence in the Indian entertainment landscape.
