The Inaugural Ceremony, scheduled for October 20 at 4 p.m. in Cayalá City – known as a “City within the city” – will be a spectacle of cultural expression. A two-hour show celebrating the history and heritage of Guatemala is planned, culminating in a performance by the popular Colombian pop group, Piso 21.

The Central american Games have a rich history, dating back to 1973 when Guatemala first hosted the event. Created by the Central American Sports Institution and endorsed by the international Olympic Committee, the games are held every four years.
