Reality Star Tommie lee Accused of Assaulting Fan at Houston Club
A Houston man is seeking legal recourse after being struck in the face by a glass thrown from the stage during a Zeus Network event featuring reality television personality Tommie Lee. the incident, captured on cell phone video, occurred over the weekend and has sparked outrage and a potential lawsuit.
A 20-year-old Houston resident,Davion Chambers,attended the “Baddies” event expecting a night of entertainment. Rather, he ended up in the emergency room receiving stitches for a facial laceration. Chambers alleges that Lee, known for her appearances on “Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta,” threw a glass object towards the audience after objects were thrown at her from a VIP section.
According to Chambers, the situation escalated when attendees in the VIP area began throwing items onto the stage. “Tommie was on stage performing. There were Baddies upstairs in the VIP section, and they were throwing things at Tommie,” he explained.”Tommie reacted,thinking it was the crowd,and she threw the shot glass at me.”
Chambers initially believed he had been accidentally head-butted by security personnel who were attempting to control the crowd. “Security guards were pushing everybody back. So, I thought somebody got pushed back and they head-butted me or something. The impact threw me off, and then I started to realize I was actually hit with something,” he stated. It wasn’t until he realized he was bleeding that the severity of the situation became clear.
The aftermath was, according to Chambers, a frustrating experience. He described a scene where onlookers pointed and called for help, but assistance was slow to arrive. “After my face was bleeding. Everybody was just pointing at me, trying to get attention. But nobody gave attention to me until I started crying. I started tapping Baddies. I was tapping all of them, trying to get their attention to let them know this just happened to me,” he recounted. Photos taken shortly after the incident reveal a visible gash near his left eye, and he reported remaining swelling during interviews.
Lee subsequently issued an apology via instagram Stories, but the message was directed generally “to Houston” and did not specifically address the incident with Chambers. Chambers feels this apology is insufficient. “Take accountability for everything you did. At least issue the apology to me and not Houston, Texas,” he demanded.
Chambers has since filed a police report and intends to pursue legal action against both Lee and Zeus Network.Representatives for both parties have yet to respond to requests for comment from KHOU 11.
