The Mayor of Oristano, Massimiliano Sanna, signed an ordinance today, November 24, 2025, authorizing the reopening of the Primary School on via Solferino and confirming the continued temporary closure of the “Leonardo Alagon” Secondary School on viale Diaz.
Heating System Repair Enables Return to Classes
The decision to reopen the Primary School follows confirmation from Alberto Soddu, director of the Public Works and Maintenance Sector of the Municipality of Oristano, that the school’s heating system has been fully restored. According to a statement released by the municipality, the resolution of the malfunction allows for the “immediate resumption of teaching activities.”
“The swift repair of the heating system was paramount to ensuring a comfortable and productive learning environment for our students,” a senior official stated.
Ordinance Partially Revoked, Secondary School Closure Remains
Ordinance no. 15, originally issued on November 24, 2025, ordered the temporary closure of both schools. That ordinance is now partially revoked, specifically concerning the Primary School on via Solferino. However, the temporary closure of the “Leonardo Alagon” Secondary School remains in effect.
Maintenance work at the secondary school is ongoing, and officials have not yet determined a date for its reopening. The municipality has not released details regarding the specific nature of the maintenance required at the “Leonardo Alagon” Secondary School, but confirmed that interventions by the Maintenance Service are still incomplete.
