A vibrant program of author events and extended holiday hours will transform Le Presse Papier bookstore into a literary hub throughout December, offering readers a unique opportunity to connect with acclaimed writers and artists.
Le Presse Papier kicks off its December program with a focus on the thriller genre. On Sunday, December 7, author Sylvain Dhenry will present his novel, The darkness of the soul, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Exploration & Adventure Take Center Stage
The bookstore will then shift its focus to tales of exploration and the natural world. On Friday, December 12, beginning at 3:30 p.m., author and publisher Pascal Goetzinger will share his passion for the outdoors and present three of his works centered on the sea: The Shackleton Expedition, A trip around the world by catamaran, and A story of ocean racing (Golden globe race 2022). Goetzinger, who also writes under the pen name Philipp Larsen, will unveil his poetic and dreamlike literary universe.
Historical Fiction & Visual Arts Highlight Weekend Events
Saturday, December 13, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will feature writer Christian Dang, presenting his historical and adventure novels: We the Trojans, Survivors of Easter Island, and Gold for Katchina. A passionate historian, researcher, and globetrotter, Dang is known for his rigorous and nuanced portrayals of ancient civilizations.
The following Saturday, December 20, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., photographer-author Christophe Levillain will dedicate copies of his works, The Catalan country and Lights – Lights of the Catalan country, described as visual tributes to the region.
The series concludes on Sunday, December 21, with a signing by Perpignan author Hélène Legrais for her new novel, La fascination Titaÿna, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The novel recounts the remarkable life of Élisabeth “Titaÿna” Sauvy, an early 20th-century aviator, journalist, and explorer whose story spans from Villeneuve-de-la-Raho to Paris.
To accommodate the increased activity, Le Presse Papier will be open every day from December 9 to December 24, from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., providing ample opportunity for book lovers to experience the program and find the perfect holiday gifts.
