King Charles and Queen Camilla Release Christmas Card Marking 20th Anniversary
A festive portrait of King Charles III and Queen Camilla has been released as their annual Christmas card, commemorating two decades since their wedding. The image offers a glimpse into a personal moment for the royal couple, captured during a visit to Italy earlier this year.
The photograph, taken at Villa Wolkonsky – the British ambassador’s residence in Rome – depicts the King and Queen arm in arm, radiating warmth and affection. The card itself is framed by a rich, dark red border, complementing the message printed within: “Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and New Year.” This year’s card holds particular significance as it acknowledges the couple’s 20th wedding anniversary, which occurred on April 9th.
Notably, that same day also marked a meeting between Charles and Camilla and Pope Francis, who sadly passed away less than two weeks later at the age of 88. The poignant timing adds a layer of reflection to the celebratory card. Royal photographer Chris Jackson captured the image, showcasing Camilla in an elegant white and beige coat dress by Anna Valentine, adorned with a delicate lily of the valley brooch. King Charles is pictured in a classic blue pinstripe suit, completed with a grey tie and a silk handkerchief.
This Christmas card represents the fourth released since Charles ascended to the throne. Hundreds of copies are traditionally distributed annually to a wide range of recipients, including family, friends, world leaders, diplomats, charitable organizations, and various institutions. Last year’s card featured a cheerful image of the couple smiling in the gardens of Buckingham Palace, while the year prior showcased them in the Throne Room following the coronation. That 2023 image, captured by Hugo Burnand, depicted Charles wearing the Imperial State Crown, coronation tunic, and robe of estate, with Camilla adorned with Queen Mary’s Crown.
Elsewhere in royal news, the Prince and Princess of Wales recently hosted the Together at Christmas carol service on Friday. The event, held at Westminster Abbey, drew a crowd including Hollywood stars like Kate Winslet and singer Katie Melua, but remained focused on celebrating the UK’s local communities and recognizing the contributions of volunteers.

The release of this Christmas card serves as a heartwarming reminder of the King and Queen’s enduring partnership and their continued dedication to public service.
