Apple TV has scheduled Jessica Chastain’s political thriller miniseries The Savant for a spring 2027 release window, according to TheWrap. Originally slated to premiere on Sept. 26, 2025, with weekly rollouts extending through November 7, the project hit a brick wall when Apple TV abruptly benched the series on September 23, as reported by TheWrap and Deadline.

In the series, Chastain stars as Jodi Goodwin, a suburban mother who operates undercover online to infiltrate white supremacist forums and thwart domestic terror plots before they materialize, adding that by day she is your average suburban mom and by night she’s uncovering the darkest corners of the internet, while her character is inspired by an article written by Andrea Stanley for Cosmopolitan in 2019.
For a full year, the series existed in a state of corporate purgatory. Although the show page remained on Apple TV’s press site without an airing schedule, insiders offered conflicting signals. Early in 2026, whispers suggested a winter or spring window tied to other female-led platform releases, and Chastain herself expressed confidence at the April Breakthrough Prize ceremony in Santa Monica that the show would ultimately see the light of day, telling the press (via Variety) that she’d gone from not knowing if the show would ever air to being confident it finally would.
