Alex Scott: Why She Missed I’m A Celeb Final

Alex Scott Prioritizes Family Amid Medical Emergency, Misses ‘I’m A Celeb’ Finale

Alex Scott, the former Arsenal footballer and sports pundit, was noticeably absent from the finale of “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!” on December 7, 2025, as her fellow campmates gathered to witness the crowning of the season’s winner. The 41-year-old’s absence stems from a deeply personal family matter, marking a departure from the show’s customary post-eviction arrangements.

Scott was the first celebrity eliminated from the competition on November 28, after spending two weeks in the Australian jungle. However, unlike other contestants who typically remain in Australia at the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort and Spa until the finale, Scott immediately returned to the United Kingdom. This decision, she revealed, was prompted by a serious medical emergency involving the mother of her girlfriend, singer Jess Glynne.

“It’s been tough because I want to be here for the wrap party and I have to get home straight away,” Scott explained following her exit. “She’s my Jessica, and I’m going home to be her rock. My campmates knew what I was going through and I just want to thank everyone at ITV and my campmates because they’ve all shown me so much support.”

The situation unfolded rapidly, with Glynne’s mother suffering a stroke and requiring urgent brain surgery. Glynne herself addressed the situation on Instagram, explaining her absence from the exit bridge where Scott was greeted by a friend, Regan Coleman, instead of her partner.

She wrote, “I know people will wonder why I wasn’t there at the end of the bridge, so I wanted to share something personal. Over the last few weeks, my mum suffered a stroke and needed urgent brain surgery. It’s been a really serious, life-altering time for my family, and I’ve had to stay close to home. Alex would always want me to be where I’m needed most.”

Scott’s swift return home underscores the importance of family and the difficult choices individuals face when personal crises arise. Her decision to prioritize her partner’s family, even amidst professional commitments, highlights a commitment to personal values that resonates beyond the realm of reality television. This situation serves as a poignant reminder that even amidst the spectacle of entertainment, life’s most pressing concerns remain deeply human and profoundly personal.
