ASL Foggia Launches “Harmony in Pink” to Support Cancer Patients and Caregivers

A comprehensive new initiative dedicated to bolstering the physical and psychological well-being of individuals undergoing oncology therapy and their families will be unveiled by ASL Foggia on December 10, 2025. The “Harmony in Pink” project, funded by the Puglia Region and developed in partnership with the Agata di Foggia association, aims to provide integrated support throughout the cancer journey.

Addressing Holistic Needs in Cancer Care

Recognizing the multifaceted challenges faced by cancer patients, ASL Foggia is prioritizing a holistic approach to care. The project will be formally presented at 1:00 PM in the conference room located on via Michele Protano, with key stakeholders in attendance. A senior official stated, “With Armonia in Rosa, ASL Foggia offers concrete and qualified support to improve the quality of life during oncological therapies.”

The presentation will feature insights from Massimo Lombardi, Director of the Oncological Orientation Center (C.Or.O) of the “Teresa Masselli Mascia” Hospital of San Severo, and the project lead, alongside managers, psychologists, and social workers from ASL Foggia.

Two Pillars of Support: Aesthetics and Yoga

“Harmony in Pink” centers around two 12-month integrated courses, beginning in January 2026, designed to address specific needs of patients. These include:

  • Specialist Oncological Aesthetics: This component focuses on mitigating the visible side effects of cancer treatments. Qualified APEO beauticians will provide interventions to manage issues like dryness, skin irritation, brittle nails, and hair or eyebrow loss, ultimately aiming to improve body image and self-esteem.
  • Oncological Yoga: Led by certified instructors, these sessions will emphasize relaxation, energy recovery, and overall psychophysical well-being. The program incorporates gentle exercises, conscious breathing techniques, meditative practices, and psycho-emotional support, empowering patients to view their bodies as sources of strength rather than targets of disease.

Expanding Access Through Regional Outreach

The project’s activities will be strategically distributed across the ASL Foggia territory, with a particular emphasis on the Oncology Operational Unit at the San Severo Hospital. To maximize accessibility, dedicated Open Days are planned for the San Severo Social and Health District and other provincial districts.

According to a company release, “Yoga and Oncological Aesthetics are not accessory activities, but fundamental tools for recover body perception, confidence and sense of control.” This underscores the program’s commitment to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care.

The Importance of Collaborative Care

The success of “Harmony in Pink” hinges on strong collaboration between healthcare services, dedicated professionals, and local associations. This integrated approach ensures that interventions are tailored to the unique needs of women facing cancer, offering a vital network of support throughout their treatment and recovery.
