SkyShowtime Launches Curated Streaming Channels Across Europe

Offering subscribers a new way to discover content, SkyShowtime, the streaming joint venture between Paramount and Comcast’s Sky, has introduced on-demand streaming channels featuring curated selections of popular franchises and genres. The move aims to enhance the user experience and provide added value to subscribers.

SkyShowtime began rolling out the new channels in Sweden on Tuesday, with plans for expansion across its European markets throughout the coming year. This feature is designed to simplify content discovery, allowing members to “effortlessly discover some of SkyShowtime’s most popular franchises,” according to a company release.

A Focus on Franchises and Genres

The new channels will spotlight well-known franchises like Dexter, House, PAW Patrol, Star Trek, and Yellowstone. In addition to franchise-focused channels, SkyShowtime is also launching genre-specific options. These include a Comedy channel featuring series such as Frasier and The Office, and a Killers channel showcasing global hits like MobLand, The Day of the Jackal, and Tulsa King.

These channels are available to all SkyShowtime subscribers, regardless of their plan – Standard With Ads, Standard, or Premium. The company emphasized that the new channels are intended to leverage its extensive content library, drawing from brands like Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon, DreamWorks Animation, Paramount+, Showtime, Sky Studios, and Peacock, as well as SkyShowtime original series.

Enhancing the User Experience

“At SkyShowtime, we always seek to evolve and improve the consumer experience and create even more value for our members,” said SkyShowtime CEO Monty Sarhan. “That’s why we are pleased to launch these new channels.”

Sarhan further explained that the channels offer a different way to enjoy SkyShowtime’s content, providing a curated experience alongside the existing on-demand library of Hollywood hits and exclusive series. “It’s a different way of discovering and enjoying all the great content that SkyShowtime has to offer,” he added.

Expanding European Reach

SkyShowtime currently operates in over 20 European markets, including Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Andorra, Portugal, and Spain. The rollout of these new channels represents a significant investment in the platform’s continued growth and commitment to providing a compelling streaming experience for European audiences.
