Former WWE head writer Vince russo believes Triple H is overlooking talent readily available to bolster the current product, specifically naming Nic Nemeth and Matt Cardona as wrestlers who should be regularly featured.Russo questioned why the two veterans aren’t signed to WWE, despite recently witnessing their strong performances on the independent circuit.
roster Choices
The wrestling veteran argues that Nemeth and Cardona are still at the top of their game and would be valuable additions to Raw and SmackDown.
- Russo has been a frequent critic of Triple H’s booking decisions.
- He recently saw Nemeth and Cardona perform on an independent show and was impressed.
- Russo believes the current WWE roster includes “amateurish” talent compared to the veterans.
Russo, who has often voiced his opinions on WWE programming, brought up nemeth and Cardona on a recent episode of the WWE RAW & SmackDown Review show on The Brand, alongside co-hosts Stevie Richards and Bin Hamin. He expressed bewilderment at why the two wrestlers aren’t currently under contract with WWE.
“I’m sitting back watching these two guys perform, and I’m like, ‘Are you kidding me?’ Like these are topnotch pro’s pros, still at the top of their game, still in peak freaking condition. They still have the crowd. They’ve never lost a step. They’re selling. They’re doing their thing. They’re entertaining. And then I look at who’s on Raw and who’s on Smackdown, and I’m like, ‘Are you are you guys joking?’ Are you joking that these two guys are not on your show, but you literally bring up these NXT kids that are freaking amateurish?'” Russo said.
Nemeth and Cardona recently appeared in WWE as Dolph ziggler and Zack Ryder, respectively, participating in The Last Time Is Now Tournament last month.
Russo Suggests Tension Between Triple H and The Rock
Earlier this month, russo discussed The Rock’s absence from WWE programming during an appearance on -7 Sports. He posited that there may be friction between Triple H and The Rock, leading to The Rock’s limited involvement with the company.
“The only thing I see is I am convinced by looking at the landscape and what’s been going on for especially the last year and what not. I believe there is heat between Triple H and The Rock. I believe there are camps.I believe there are sides. I believe The Rock is laying low in the weeds,” Russo said. [H/T: TJRWrestling]
The Rock hasn’t been seen on WWE television as helping John Cena turn heel at Elimination Chamber: Toronto. He was absent from WrestleMania 41 and did not appear at Cena’s retirement match on December 13.
