Aureilhan Judo Club Achieves Gold Label Status, Celebrates Record Growth

Aureilhan’s ASCA judo club is riding high after a landmark season marked by extraordinary athletic achievements adn prestigious recognition from France Judo, culminating in the award of the Gold Label. The club’s continued success underscores its position as a leading sporting institution in the Hautes-Pyrénées region.
A season of Unprecedented Success
The past season, concluding August 31, 2025, has been hailed as a turning point for the Aureilhan judo club. According to a senior official, “the past season shoudl be marked with a milestone as it was exceptional for the sporting results obtained and the award by France Judo of the Gold label.” this accolade reflects the dedication of athletes, coaches, and administrators alike. The club boasted 208 licensees, solidifying its status as the largest judo club in the Hautes-Pyrénées department.
Dedicated Coaching Staff and State-of-the-Art Facilities
the club’s strength lies in its highly qualified coaching team. A total of eight instructors guide athletes of all levels, including Jonathan and Patrick, both holders of the DESJEPS Judo certification, and Mourad and Gautier, who possess the CQP martial arts qualification with a focus on judo. They are supported by Eric Marinelli, José Saiz, Jean Marc Lovato, Serge Grelin, and Philippe Manche.
The quality of the training surroundings is also paramount.The club benefits from a dedicated dojo provided by the aureilhan Town Hall, available for use seven days a week. A club representative emphasized the importance of this facility, stating, “it is indeed an asset, it is our ‘working’ tool and we are aware of how lucky we are.”
Broad Program Offering and Community Engagement
The Aureilhan judo club caters to a diverse range of ages and skill levels. Classes are offered every evening from Monday to Friday, as well as Saturday mornings, totaling 12.5 hours of instruction per week. The program welcomes children as young as 3 years old – with the youngest participants joining in 2022 – and extends to athletes aged 77 and above.
A burgeoning leisure judo course for adults has attracted around thirty practitioners, fostering a studious and friendly atmosphere. Beyond formal training,the club actively participates in community events,including internal competitions for Aureilhan judokas,a Christmas party,a graduation ceremony,and a presence at the Meetings of Aureilhan Associations. demonstrating a commitment to social responsibility, members also participated in the Pink October march and supported the Telethon through a march and garage sale.
