South Kesteven Half-Term to Feature Free Skateboarding, BMX, and Street Art

South Kesteven District Council is set to offer a dynamic lineup of free activities for young people during the February half-term break, including skateboard workshops, a BMX stunt show, and interactive street art sessions. The initiative aims to provide engaging and accessible recreational opportunities for residents throughout the district.

Skateboarding Sessions Across South Kesteven

Throughout the February school holiday, skateboard sessions will be available all day at skate parks in Deeping, Stamford, Bourne, and Grantham. The council confirmed the widespread availability of these workshops, designed to cater to various skill levels.

Notably, the event in Grantham will coincide with the official opening of the town’s newly constructed skate park, following a “soft opening” prior to the Christmas holiday. This marks a significant investment in youth facilities within the region.

BMX Stunt Show and Creative Workshops in Market Deeping

The Market Deeping BMX Track will host a thrilling stunt show, promising an exciting spectacle for attendees. Beyond the high-octane performance, visitors will have the unique opportunity to participate in street art activities and personalize their own equipment.

“Visitors would get the opportunity to have a go at street art and decorate their own equipment,” a spokesperson said, highlighting the hands-on nature of the event. This creative element adds an extra layer of engagement for participants.

Council Commitment to Youth Engagement

The South Kesteven District Council’s commitment to providing accessible and engaging activities for young people is evident in this diverse program. By offering free workshops and events, the council is fostering a vibrant community and promoting healthy lifestyles. The initiative underscores the importance of investing in recreational facilities and opportunities for youth development within the district.
