Zoom AI Tools: Boost Productivity

by priyanka.patel tech editor

Zoom is rolling out a major upgrade to its AI-powered assistant, aiming to move beyond simply *reacting* to your needs and start anticipating them. The company announced a series of improvements designed to shave time off repetitive tasks and streamline workflows for users.

  • Zoom AI Companion is evolving from a support tool to a proactive intelligence platform.
  • ‘My Notes’ will summarize meetings across multiple platforms, including Zoom, Teams, and Google Meet.
  • ‘Personal Workflows’ will automate tasks using natural language instructions, even for those without coding experience.
  • AI Companion now supports image uploads and integrates with Team Chat for broader context.

AI Companion Gets a Proactive Boost

The collaboration platform’s ‘My Notes’ feature is designed to work seamlessly across Zoom Meetings, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet calls—even capturing insights from in-person discussions. Beyond basic note-taking and summarization, it generates personalized notes tailored to each user’s perspective.

A new tool called ‘Personal Workflows’ will allow users to automate routine tasks and follow-ups with simple, natural language commands. Zoom is also providing pre-built templates, but the goal is to empower users of all technical skill levels to create their own custom agents.

As an example, Zoom suggests an agent that could “automatically draft a follow-up email with key discussion points and send it within 30 minutes” after every client call.

“With AI Companion, people can move beyond managing work to truly accelerate their impact and shift from reactive productivity to proactive intelligence, where technology doesn’t just support work, it elevates it,” wrote AI Head of Product Lijuan Qin.

Further enhancements to AI Companion include the ability to upload images for contextual understanding and access conversations from Team Chat, providing a more comprehensive view of ongoing projects.

“The era of reactive productivity is over,” the company stated.
