Missing Teen: Tyah, 17 – Family Plea for Help

by Ahmed Ibrahim

A 17-year-old high school student, Hatyce Halidi Selemani, has been missing from Pessac, near Bordeaux, for more than eight days, prompting a police appeal for witnesses and a tireless search by her family.

The teenager, also known as Tyah, was last seen on January 12th after going home for lunch from the Pape-Clément high school in Pessac. Since then, she hasn’t contacted family or friends, raising serious concerns. Her family, deeply worried, immediately launched their own search and alerted authorities.

Police issued a public appeal for information on January 20th, describing Tyah as 1.75 meters tall with black skin and long braids with white highlights. She has brown eyes and a slim build. She was last seen wearing a pink sweatshirt, black jogging pants, and white and black sneakers.

Family’s Desperate Search

The alarm was raised on January 12th when Tyah didn’t arrive for afternoon classes at Pape-Clément high school. Her mother was alerted by the school, and a frantic search among friends and family proved fruitless.

Her brother, Erwan, who last saw her during their lunch break that day, described himself as “desperate.” He recounted finding his sister in tears, confiding in him about heartache related to a past relationship. “At first I thought it was a runaway,” Erwan explained, “But no, it’s been a week. It’s not possible.”

She wouldn’t be gone that long, and her friends would hear from her.

According to authorities, Tyah’s phone last registered a signal in the Bacalan district of Bordeaux on the evening of her disappearance, as well as other areas within the city. “She didn’t know anyone in Bacalan,” Erwan stated, adding that he and other family members have been searching the area, showing photos and asking for any information, but to no avail.

I think she met a bad person.

Pape-Clément high school has informed parents that they are in daily contact with the Directorate of Departmental National Education Services and the police, who are continuing their investigation to locate the missing teenager.
