The song is now part of the rapper’s new album, Don’t Be Dumb, which dropped last week
Following the release of his new album, Don’t Be Dumb, A$AP Rocky surprised fans with an unexpected addition to the tracklist: a new song titled “Flackito Jodye,” featuring Tokischa.
The duo also collaborated on a retro-style music video for the track, directed by AWGE and available on Apple Music. “Flackito Jodye” is now featured as part of Disc 2 of Don’t Be Dumb, which was released on Friday.
Don’t Be Dumb marks A$AP Rocky’s fourth studio album and his first full-length project in eight years. The album boasts 15 tracks, including previously released singles “Punk Rocky” and “Helicopter,” both accompanied by visually striking music videos. The “Punk Rocky” video featured Winona Ryder, Thundercat, and Danny Elfman, while filmmaker Tim Burton made an appearance in the video for “Air Force (Black Demarco).” Burton also designed the album’s cover art, showcasing the six distinct personas introduced in the videos.
Rocky explained to Perfect magazine that the extended gap between albums stemmed from a pursuit of perfection and a desire to build a lasting legacy. “That’s why I’m not so eager to just drop, drop, drop,” he said. “I don’t do things to just try and stay relevant, or keep my name in the conversation. I try to do natural things, creative, ambitious things that really satisfy me.”
Earlier this week, the rapper announced a world tour in support of Don’t Be Dumb. The tour, kicking off on May 27 in Chicago and concluding on September 30 in Paris, will feature a unique lineup of “special guests”—all six of the alter-egos Rocky introduced on the album: GR1M, Mr. Mayers, Rugahand, Babushka Boi, Dummy, and Shirthead.
