Bekasi Flooding Displaces Residents, Impacts Multiple Districts

A surge of floodwaters impacted Kota Bekasi this morning, with water levels reaching as high as 1.5 meters in some areas,prompting evacuations and disrupting daily life.

Heavy rainfall led to widespread inundation across multiple districts of Bekasi,Indonesia,beginning early this morning. Authorities report that nine residents have been successfully evacuated from affected areas as of this report.The Bekasi City BPBD (Regional Disaster Management Agency) is actively monitoring the situation and coordinating relief efforts.

Varied Water Levels Reported Across Bekasi

According to a senior official,the severity of the flooding varies significantly across the city. Water levels range from a mere 10 centimeters to a concerning 150 centimeters (approximately 4.9 feet). The hardest-hit area appears to be North Bekasi, specifically in Lebak Village, where water reached depths of 30 to 150 centimeters.

1. Pondok Gede District:

  • Duta Indah Housing: water levels reached approximately 20-80 cm by 7:39 AM.
  • PHP Housing: Inundation height of approximately 30 cm as of 7:41 AM.

2. Jati Asih District:

  • IKIP Lecturer Housing: Water levels reached approximately 70 cm at 6:44 AM.

3. North Bekasi District:

  • Pesona Anggrek Housing: Water levels reached approximately 20 cm by 7:30 AM.
  • Kp.Lebak RT 001/003: Water levels ranged from 30-150 cm (resident evacuation location).

4. West Bekasi District:

  • SDN 1 bintara: Water levels reached 20-30 cm by 7:37 AM.
  • Jl. Mangga Raya RT 001/007: Inundation height of approximately 10 cm as of 7:50 AM.
  • Mas Naga Housing: Water levels reached 60-70 cm by 9:15 AM.
  • Puri Bintara Housing: Water levels reached approximately 70 cm by 9:15 AM.
  • Duta Kranji Housing: Water levels reached 25-50 cm by 9:15 AM.

5. East Bekasi District:

  • Danita Irrigation Housing: Water levels reached 20-60 cm by 7:55 AM.

6. South Bekasi District:

  • Financial Complex, Adhiyaksa & Perumnas 2: Water levels reached 30-100 cm by 8:05 AM.

Emergency Response Teams Deployed

teams have been dispatched to the most affected areas to assist residents and manage the situation. Team I is focused on Kp. Lebak in North Bekasi,where water levels remain between 30-150 cm.Team II is operating in Duta Indah Housing in Pondok Gede,with water levels between 20-80 cm. Team III is addressing the situation in Mas Naga Housing, Puri Bintara, and Duta Kranji in West Bekasi, where water levels range from 25-70 cm.
