Recently, doctors discovered cancerous nodules, prompting further testing before any surgical intervention. These tests unluckily revealed a worsening of her existing heart condition. “I am retaining a lot of blood in the right ventricle,” Karina shared. “I have had many medical tests and I have collaborated with cardiologists and specialists,and finally thay all have decided to operate on my heart.”
The planned surgery aims to fully correct the problem, repairing torn mesh, restoring proper blood flow, and implanting a valve. Doctors hope this will eliminate the need for future open-heart operations, potentially allowing for management with catheterization instead.

Karina’s health has prevented her from working, leaving her reliant on her husband’s income to cover medical expenses. “We are doing our best to continue doing it on our own, but the costs of surgery and hospitalization are getting out of control,” she explained.
