A coordinated operation by the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) resulted in the seizure of a notable quantity of cocaine, weapons, and the arrest of two individuals linked to a Structured Organized Crime Group (Gedo) in the La Macana sector of zulia state.

Cocaine and Arms Seized in Zulia Operation
On an unspecified date, agents assigned to Detachment 114 of the GNB conducted an operation in the La Macana sector, located in the town of Barranquitas, Rosario de Perijá municipality. during the operation, authorities seized 24 panels of cocaine, along with a cache of weapons and explosive devices.
According to reports released by Zone Command N 11 of the GNB, the military engaged with members of a Gedo, ultimately resulting in the capture of two individuals. The seizure included:
- One AR-15 5.56 mm caliber rifle
- One .22 caliber rifle
- Eleven explosive hand grenades
- Five AR-15 rifle magazines
- Two 7.62×51 mm caliber Light Automatic Rifle (FAL) magazines
- 98 ammunition of various calibers
In addition to the drugs and weaponry, authorities also recovered three telephone devices and various items of clothing believed to be used by the criminal group, including harness vests, bracelets, sweatshirts, jungle hats, ponchos, and a single blue tarp.
“We continue to advance and win in favor of the border security of Zulia,as we are guarantors of peace and order,” a GNB representative stated.
Marijuana Seized at Caracas Tollbooth
In a separate operation, the Regional Anti-Drug Intelligence Unit 43 of the GNB, with the assistance of canine unit “rocky,” seized 83 doses of marijuana at kilometer 12 of the Central regional Highway, near the Tazón tollbooth in Caracas. The drugs were discovered hidden within the belongings of a citizen who was subsequently arrested.
Both operations have been formally reported to the Public Ministry for further inquiry and prosecution.
“These actions reflect the commitment of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces and citizen security organizations in the fight against illicit drug trafficking, reaffirming their determination to combat this global threat and contribute to the tranquility and well-being of the Venezuelan people,” the report concluded.
