Steinenbronn, January 18, 2026 — A new fitness program designed to help people maintain strength and mobility in later life is launching, offering a simple way to combat age-related muscle and bone loss. The “Five Esslingers” program emphasizes “durability” over competition, focusing on building strength, speed, balance, and flexibility without the need for specialized equipment.

Maintaining Vitality: A Fitness Focus for Lifelong Health

A new program aims to keep individuals active and strong throughout their lives, emphasizing accessible exercises for lasting well-being.

  • The “Five Esslingers” program is designed for individuals in the second half of life.
  • Exercises focus on strength, speed, balance, and flexibility.
  • No specialized equipment is required, making it accessible to all.
  • Courses begin January 7th and run through April 15, 2026.

As we age, maintaining physical activity is crucial for the health of our heart, muscles, bones, sugar levels, intestines, and even our overall well-being. Regular and correct exercise helps counteract the natural weakening of muscles and bones, allowing individuals to determine their own pace and focus on sustained “durability.”

What’s the key to staying mobile as we age? According to gerontologist Dr. med. Martin Runge, “Someone with fewer muscles is faster in a wheelchair.” He emphasizes that bone loss is often linked to muscle loss, not just hormonal changes.

The program offers a “trial lesson” for those interested in learning more about the exercises.
