Producer Denies Claims of Script Changes to Hend Sabry Series “Immunity”
A new Egyptian drama series, “Immunity,” starring Hend Sabry, is already facing scrutiny, but producers are pushing back against rumors of creative interference. The series, set to premiere in the coming months, has been the subject of online speculation regarding alterations to the script and deleted scenes.
Egyptian producer Dina Karim has firmly refuted recent allegations concerning amendments to the script of the series “Immunity” or the removal of scenes featuring key cast members. Karim stressed that these claims are entirely unfounded.
Karim addressed the rumors directly on her official Facebook account, stating, “What has been raised about modifying the lines of work or interfering in the course of the series is completely baseless, and any modification is limited only to the author and director, and I, as the producer, follow up on matters within the usual professional framework.” This statement aims to clarify the creative process and reassure fans that the integrity of the project remains intact.
The producer also lauded the dedication of lead actress Hend Sabry, describing her as “one of the pillars of strength that we are proud of.” Karim emphasized the collaborative spirit of the entire production team, highlighting their commitment to delivering a high-quality series to audiences. She urged the public to rely on accurate information and avoid spreading unsubstantiated rumors.
A Story of Resilience and “Psychological Immunity”
“Immunity” is set against the backdrop of the Batinia neighborhood during the 1970s and 1980s. The narrative centers on a woman’s journey after the loss of her husband in the dangerous world of contraband trading. The series will explore her transformation from a vulnerable spouse to a resilient figure who fiercely protects her family and navigates complex societal challenges. A central theme of the series is the concept of “psychological immunity” – the ability to withstand cruelty and conflict.
The series boasts a prominent cast including Riyad Al-Khouly, Ahmed Khaled Saleh, Khaled Selim, Maha Nassar, Karim Qassem, Ahmed Al-Shami, Imad Safwat, Hoda Al-Etrebi, and Mimi Gamal, alongside a selection of guest stars. The script is penned by Amr Al-Dali, and the series is directed by Hussein Al-Manbawi.
Karim’s swift response to the circulating rumors underscores the importance of maintaining transparency and trust with the audience as anticipation builds for the release of “Immunity.” The production team appears determined to focus on delivering a compelling and authentic story, free from the distractions of misinformation.
