“Super Kaguyahime!” Releases Empowering Lyric Video for “I Like Myself”
A new lyric video for the song “I Like Myself,” featured in the original animated film Super Kaguyahime! currently streaming on Netflix, was released on YouTube on February 11th. The track, a pop tune composed by HoneyWorks, is performed by Kaguya (CV: Yuko Natsuyoshi) and celebrates self-affirmation and curiosity.
Super Kaguyahime! has quickly become a global phenomenon since its debut on January 22nd, ranking first on Netflix’s “Top 10 Movies of the Day” list and achieving high rankings internationally. The film, directed by Seigo Yamashita – known for his work on the opening sequences of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1, Chainsaw Man, and Urusei Yatsura – marks his first full-length directorial effort.
The project is a unique music animation project bringing together prominent Vocaloid producers including ryo (supercell), kz (livetune), 40mP, and HoneyWorks. The narrative centers on a summer journey, as depicted in the lyric video, following Kaguya and Ayaka Sakayori as they strive for success in the competitive world of live music bars. The video showcases their experiences, including performances in the virtual space Tsukuyomi and the challenges of real-world streaming.
