SAT-BOX Launches “BLOCLASH,” a New Battle-Type Puzzle Game on Nintendo eShop and Steam
A fast-paced, strategic puzzle experience has arrived for Nintendo Switch and Steam players. Japanese game developer SAT-BOX officially released BLOCLASH on February 12, 2026, offering a unique blend of quick thinking and competitive gameplay.
A New Contender in the Puzzle Genre
BLOCLASH distinguishes itself with its streamlined aesthetic and sound design, creating an immersive and intense battle atmosphere. According to a company release, the game prioritizes “instant judgment and inspiration” as key components to success. The core gameplay revolves around players taking turns strategically placing blocks to form horizontal or vertical lines. Successfully connected lines are then eliminated, with players earning points based on the number of opponent’s blocks removed. The first player to reach the designated point threshold claims victory.
Diverse Game Modes and Customization Options
SAT-BOX has incorporated a variety of modes to cater to different playstyles. Challenge Mode provides a single-player experience where players compete against increasingly difficult CPU opponents, ideal for honing skills and pushing cognitive limits. For head-to-head competition, Battle Mode allows for customized duels, with adjustable stage size, background music, time limits, and player colors, enabling a truly personalized combat experience.
The game also features an online mode offering both ranked quick battles and casual room battles, allowing players to compete against opponents nationwide in real-time. “This provides a platform for players to test their skills against masters from all over the country,” one analyst noted.
Availability and Pricing
BLOCLASH is currently available for purchase on both the Nintendo eShop and Steam platforms, supporting both Japanese and English languages. The standard retail price is 500 yen, which is approximately equivalent to NT$105. However, to celebrate the launch, SAT-BOX is offering a limited-time introductory price of 300 yen (approximately NT$63).
This launch positions BLOCLASH as a compelling option for puzzle enthusiasts seeking a competitive and customizable experience.
