New Book Explores the Convergence of AI, Blockchain, and Cybersecurity in Finance
A forthcoming book, ABC: AI, Blockchain, and Cybersecurity for Finance, promises a pragmatic guide for businesses navigating the rapidly evolving landscape of these three critical technologies. Scheduled for release later this year by Routledge, the book is authored by Anil Chintapalli, Dr. David Metcalf, and Dr. Max Hooper, and examines their integration into modern enterprise operating models.
According to a company release, the authors assert that AI, blockchain, and cybersecurity – collectively referred to as ‘ABC’ – are fundamentally reshaping the enterprise landscape across all industries. “The potential lies in their ability to amplify human capital, transform industries, and address complex global socio-economic challenges at speed and scale,” one of the co-authors stated.
The book provides a blueprint for organizations seeking to leverage these technologies, outlining strategies for identifying opportunities and risks, designing enterprise strategy, building resilient infrastructure, addressing talent gaps, managing change, establishing governance frameworks, and ultimately achieving a return on investment. “We articulate a functional and pragmatic blueprint on these technologies, and how this will shape the future of business, operations, and the technology landscape,” explained Dr. Metcalf, a General Partner and Director at Global Blockchain Ventures.
The 10 Critical AI Challenges
The authors pinpoint ten significant challenges enterprises globally face when implementing AI solutions. These include a lack of clear strategy and prioritization, often leading to projects driven by “innovation theater” rather than tangible business outcomes. A substantial 80% of AI project effort is frequently consumed by data preparation, addressing fragmentation and quality issues.
Other key hurdles identified are legacy infrastructure limitations, a shortage of skilled AI talent, resistance to change within organizations, ethical and regulatory concerns, difficulties scaling pilots to production, uncertainty surrounding return on investment, misalignment with market demands, and a general practical knowledge gap. The authors support their analysis with relevant case studies outlining potential solutions.
“ABC will shape the future of our current technology and post-quantum future,” noted Dr. Hooper, a General Partner and Managing Director at Global Blockchain Ventures.
The authors collectively bring extensive experience in technology, operations, and investment to the subject matter. Mr. Chintapalli, who also serves on the Forbes Business Council and the Fast Company Executive Board, has authored a previous book on SAP published by John Wiley. Drs. Metcalf and Hooper have both published extensively on blockchain and related technologies.
