Haier is expanding its television lineup for 2026, building on its debut in the Italian market last summer. While the company showcased a range of novel appliances, the focus for home entertainment centers on a new generation of mini-LED televisions. The company will continue to offer QLED and OLED technologies, but the latest models emphasize advancements in picture quality and smart features, driven by a new processing platform.
At the heart of the new range is a shared hardware platform powered by a new MediaTek System on a Chip (SoC). Haier has leveraged this new chip to develop “Homey AI,” a suite of machine learning-based technologies designed to enhance both audio and video processing. This includes automatic content recognition, object recognition within scenes for image optimization, and ambient light sensing for dynamic adjustments to picture settings. The televisions will continue to run on Google TV, and Haier has confirmed that Google’s Gemini AI assistant will be integrated into the platform when it becomes available in Europe and Italy.
Flagship Performance: The M96 Series
The top-of-the-line M96 series leads Haier’s new television offerings, available in screen sizes up to a massive 115 inches. These mini-LED televisions support both Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+ Adaptive for enhanced dynamic range. Audio is handled by a KEF-branded 6.2.2 channel system compatible with Dolby Atmos, integrated as a soundbar along the bottom bezel – with the exception of the 115-inch model. Haier states the televisions feature “thousands” of local dimming zones, aiming for peak brightness levels of up to 2000 nits. The panels boast a 144Hz refresh rate, with support for a 240Hz mode at reduced resolution, alongside Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technology.
Stepping Down: The M92 Series
The M92 series offers a similar experience to the M96, also featuring a KEF-branded audio system, but with a 2.1 channel configuration. While the exact number of local dimming zones remains undisclosed, it’s expected to be lower than the M96. Peak brightness is also reduced to around 1300 nits, though the 144Hz panel refresh rate is maintained. These televisions aim to balance high-end features with a slightly more accessible price point.
Reducing Glare with the S90 Series
Haier is also introducing the S90 series, another mini-LED option distinguished by its matte, anti-reflective screen coating. Details beyond this are currently limited, though the panel supports a 240Hz refresh rate and includes a 2.1 channel KEF audio system. Notably, the S90 series has a reported energy efficiency class of ‘C’, the lowest currently available for a mini-LED television. The impact of this lower rating on screen brightness remains to be seen, although Haier claims a peak luminance of 1000 nits in HDR mode.
Rounding out the lineup, the QLED S80 series features a 60Hz panel and HDR10+ support. A new OLED model, the C90 series, will also be available, featuring Harman/Kardon audio, similar to last year’s C95 series.
Haier’s 2026 television range represents a significant investment in mini-LED technology and smart features.
