A comprehensive study from Lund University in Sweden tracked more than 620,000 men and women to analyze how fluctuations in body mass between the ages of 17 and 60 correlate with long-term survival. The findings indicate that the timing of weight gain is critical; those who enter obesity early in adulthood face significantly higher risks of premature mortality than those who gain weight later in life.
