Japanese studio Kojima Productions has announced the limited-edition Ludens X Watch Set in collaboration with watch manufacturer Anicorn Watches to celebrate its tenth anniversary, featuring a modified automatic movement and a custom design by art director Yoji Shinkawa.
Ten years after Hideo Kojima launched the studio, Kojima Productions is marking its milestone anniversary with a high-end collector accessory. The company has partnered once again with Anicorn Watches to produce the Ludens X Watch Set. The two previously joined forces alongside NASA for the Space Ludens limited edition watch.
The new release centers on the studio’s mascot, character Ludens.
Design and Mechanical Specifications of the Ludens X
The centerpiece of the collection is the Ludens X timepiece itself. Housed in a black stainless steel case measuring 39mm (L) x 49mm (W) x 12.7mm (H), the watch runs on a modified NH35-ATD automatic movement. The exterior design incorporates four prominent gold-tone screws as accents and features the engravings BEYOND THE STRAND
and INTO OUTER SPACE
around the bezels.
The dial was crafted by Kojima Productions art director Yoji Shinkawa. It features layered technical elements, the company logo, and a tenth-anniversary mark. The dark dial contrasts with gold-tone mechanical accents, exposed screw elements, and a brushed metallic panel explicitly inspired by the mechanical structure of the Ludens EVA Creative Suit.
Additional visual details include sunray brushed and polished hour and minute hands coated with a blue photoluminescent pigment for visibility in the dark. Sapphire glass protects both the dial and the case back, allowing wearers to view the internal mechanical movements.
Collector Items, Packaging, and Accessories
Buyers receive several modular components within the single gift box. The set includes a black stainless steel bracelet with Ludens-inspired buckle details, an additional carbon fibre-pattern leather strap, and a separate silver stainless steel bracelet. The collector package also supplies an exclusive Ludens X Black Cuff Bracelet featuring gold-tone engraving, alongside a metal print warranty card in a transparent, sealed case stamped with the developer’s logo, commemorative inscriptions, and individual serial numbers. A larger metal print of Ludens rounds out the physical collection.
Launch Date, Pricing, and Purchasing Details
Sales for the collector edition will commence on August 5, 2026, at 22:00 PM EDT, which corresponds to August 6 at 11:00 AM JST. Purchasing is restricted exclusively to the official Anicorn Watches website.
Base pricing for the watch set requires setting aside at least $940, with separate costs for regional shipping and import fees. Production volume is strictly limited, though the final print run figure remains tied to the official launch schedule.
