The proclamation signed by Trump establishes a steep 100% ad valorem tariff on drones of a specific size or equipped with sensitive capabilities critical to national security. Smaller imported drones face a 25% levy under the new trade measures.
The policy also extends specific tariff rates to key U.S. allies and trade partners. Unmanned aircraft systems and components originating from the European Union, Japan, Liechtenstein, South Korea, Switzerland, and Taiwan will face a 15% tariff. Meanwhile, a 10% ad valorem tariff applies to drone imports coming from the UK, according to details released by the White House.
