A techno rave at a horse-racing track in Switzerland turned deadly in the early hours of Sunday, leaving one young woman dead and sending five other attendees to local hospitals. The violence erupted shortly after 2:30 a.m. at the Schachen racecourse in Aarau, a town situated roughly 46 kilometers west of Zurich. Organizers had expected roughly 3,500 people to attend the annual gathering.
Italian national Maria Spinelli, 22, died at the scene from her injuries. Four men and one woman, ranging in age from 24 to 27, suffered injuries ranging from minor to severe and were transported to hospitals. According to regional police, all six victims are residents of Switzerland.
