highlighting a long-standing point of contention for the president.
The animated satirical powerhouse returned to headlines on Sunday as the 2026 Creative Arts Emmy Awards delivered its trophy to Comedy Central’s long-running hit, marking the show’s first win in that category in 13 years. Rather than simply accepting the accolade, the creative team behind the series used the occasion to resurrect a well-documented grievance involving the administration.
The Long-Running Emmy Grievance That Sparked the Digital Taunt
The social media posts on X and Instagram showed an illustration of a cartoon body attached to a photograph of the president’s face, positioned with his trousers around his ankles while clutching an Emmy statuette. Surrounding the figure were familiar animated residents of the Colorado town, including Cartman, Kyle, Stan, Kenny, Mr. Garrison, PC Principal, Jesus Christ, and Satan.
The taunt directly targets the fact that the president has never won an Emmy award despite multiple nominations. As an executive producer on NBC’s business competition series The Apprentice, he was recognized in the Outstanding Reality-Competition Program category in 2004 and 2005, losing both times to CBS’s The Amazing Race.
Over the years, the president has been vocal about his dissatisfaction with the television academy. In a 2012 post on X, he claimed that The Apprentice should have won many times over
and dismissed the ceremony by declaring that the Emmys are all politics.
Inside the Provocative Season That Secured the Trophy
The award-winning episode responsible for the victory was the two-part season premiere titled “Sermon on the ‘Mount,” which initially aired in July 2025. That installment pushed boundaries by tackling Christian nationalism in schools, the administration’s political maneuvers, and public discussions surrounding the Jeffrey Epstein files.
The controversial episode also featured a surreal narrative arc depicting the president and Satan as romantic partners, culminating in a deepfake Public Service Announcement sequence where a naked version of the president stumbles through the desert. During the final moments of that sequence, a live-action scene appeared, culminating in a visual gag involving a talking micropenis.

The administration did not let the satirical onslaught pass without comment. Following the broadcast of the season premiere, the White House issued a blistering statement criticizing the program.
“This show hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention. President Trump has delivered on more promises in just six months than any other president in our country’s history — and no fourth-rate show can derail President Trump’s hot streak.”
