Ravi Teja’s Telugu family entertainer Irumudi has grossed ₹71.87 crore worldwide after three days in theaters. Directed by Shiva Nirvana and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film opened on August 21, building steady momentum through its opening weekend before eventually reaching a 375% return on investment by its third week.
Opening Weekend Surge and Day-by-Day Box Office Gains
The Telugu-language family drama sustained an upward trajectory during its opening weekend run, registering its highest India net collection on Sunday, August 23. According to box office figures reported by industry tracker Sacnilk, the film collected an estimated ₹18.80 crore net in India on Day 3 across 3,078 shows. That figure marked a roughly 16% increase from the previous day’s earnings.
The film opened to ₹15.30 crore net on Friday, August 21, before rising to ₹16.20 crore net on Saturday. Occupancy rates climbed alongside the collections, moving from 76.9% on opening day to 75.8% on Saturday, and peaking at an estimated 85.5% on Sunday. The overwhelming majority of the Day 3 net came from the Telugu version, which brought in ₹18.76 crore across 3,008 shows with an 87% occupancy rate. Meanwhile, the Tamil version contributed approximately ₹0.04 crore net from 70 shows with an estimated 22% occupancy.
Reaching the ₹71.87 Crore Worldwide Milestone
When combining domestic and international figures at the close of its opening weekend, the film cleared a significant global threshold. Domestic figures placed the three-day India net at ₹50.30 crore, translating to an India gross of ₹58.37 crore.
On the international front, the outlet reported that overseas collections added ₹3.50 crore in gross earnings on Sunday alone, bringing the cumulative overseas gross to ₹13.50 crore. Merging the domestic gross of ₹58.37 crore with the overseas gross of ₹13.50 crore pushed the total worldwide gross to ₹71.87 crore after just three days in theaters. With Day 4 underway on Monday, August 24, the film’s weekday performance would be closely watched to provide an indication of how the film holds after its opening weekend.
Third Weekend Momentum and 375% Returns
While many theatrical releases experience a steep drop-off by their third week, Irumudi maintained strong footfalls among moviegoers. Already watched by a large chunk of moviegoers in the Telugu market, the family entertainer was expected to slow down in its third week, but it didn’t. By its seventeenth day in theaters, the family entertainer recorded a notable third-weekend resurgence.

Here’s the week-wise collection breakdown in India (net): Week 1 brought in 92.15 crore, while Week 2 added 57.6 crore. On the third Sunday, Day 17, the production earned 6.75 crore, marking a 37.76% jump from Day 16’s 4.9 crore. Day 15 also contributed 4.9 crore to the tally. That pushed the cumulative Indian net collection past the 160 crore mark, eventually reaching a solid 166.3 crore net, which equals 196.23 crore gross. With Irumudi still having a smooth ride at the Indian box office, it has a shot at the 200 crore mark (net).
According to box office reporting from Koimoi, the film was made on a budget of 35 crore, and has earned 166.3 crore net so far. So, in 17 days, the film recorded a return on investment of 131.3 crore. Calculated further, it equals 375.14% returns. As per Koimoi’s parameters, it has secured a super duper hit verdict at the Indian box office.
