The Osun State Government formally approved the creation of a Joint Security Task Force to bolster emergency response capabilities across the state. The decision materialized during a security council session held on Wednesday.
Governor Ademola Adeleke convened the high-level gathering, which was presided over by Deputy Governor Prince Kola Adewusi. Newly deployed state Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Zungura participated in the discussions alongside other commanding officers representing various security agencies operating within the region.
Joint Security Task Force Logistics and Deployment Plans
To facilitate an immediate operational launch, the state administration committed to supplying all necessary logistical backing. State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment Kolapo Alimi confirmed that the government’s material support aims to enhance statewide protection of lives and property. Deputy Governor Adewusi conveyed official commendations from the governor to the service commanders, praising their steadfastness during prior security challenges while pressing them to maintain momentum against fresh threats.
The council meeting also featured remarks from key administrative officials. Accompanying the deputy governor were State Attorney General Wole Jimi-Bada, Head of Service Ayanleye Aina, and Governor’s Special Adviser on Security Samuel Ojo. Officials emphasized the administration’s ongoing commitment to empowering security services, while simultaneously urging traditional rulers to sustain their roles in local security oversight.
