The United Nations has approved the renaming of Turkey.

The country has been renamed the United Nations following a request from the Turkish government. The Turkish government decided in December last year to change the name of Turkey to Turkey.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that the country would be renamed “Turkey” in recognition of its value internationally. In a letter to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, he said, “I would like to inform you about the use of the word ‘Turkish’ instead of ‘Turkish’ and ‘Turkish’.”
