The Moscow authorities are considering the possibility of connecting the MCD, MCC and ground transport to FacePay, the Deputy Mayor of the capital for transport, Maxim Liksutov.
“We are working on the possibility of linking other types of tickets to Face Pay next year, connecting the MCC and MCD, ground transport. We will also keep all other payment methods, ”Liksutov quotes the Telegram channel of the Department of Transport and Development of Road Transport Infrastructure.
According to him, now more than 15,000 passengers use the technology on four metro lines (Filevskaya, Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya, Solntsevskaya and Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya. – Vedomosti).
Mayor of the city Sergei Sobyanin said earlier that on October 15, FacePay will be available at all stations. Liksutov said that testing of the technology is now “in full swing”; in the metro, we conducted load testing, when testers go through FacePay without stopping for half an hour. Metro employees also pass through the station using this technology. According to Liksutov, Sobyanin instructed to introduce a discount on travel for testers of payment on the face, it will soon be introduced.
FacePay works as follows: a person takes a photo and enters it into a special application, where he also binds a bank card or Troika. As a result, when passing through the turnstile, a person looks at the camera, the system finds his picture, matches it with his face and lets it pass. The money is debited from the card automatically.
