Since 2012, children who die before reaching the age of one year are more and more numerous in France. A study published at the end of March 2022 in the scientific journal “The Lancet” reveals the worrying increase in infant mortality there. If the causes have not yet been determined, avenues are being explored by researchers, including congenital malformations or birth weight.

We will also discuss the dramatic increase in the maternal mortality rate in the United States, figures that are particularly worrying within the Afro-Caribbean community.
