Mumbai: Let’s see how the Rs 48,390 crore IPL media license from 2023 to 2027 is distributed to teams, players and state cricket associations.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has launched a bid for the next five years of television, digital, exclusive matches and overseas broadcasting licenses for the Indian Premier League cricket series. Of this, Star India acquired the television broadcasting license for Rs 23,575 crore and Viacom 18 acquired the digital license for Rs 23,758 crore. Apart from this, foreign broadcasting licenses have been obtained for Rs 1,057 crore. The total price for the broadcast was Rs 48,390 crore.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has said it will distribute Rs 48,390 crore from the auction to IPL cricket teams, players and state cricket associations.

Accordingly, Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals, who have been playing IPL cricket for a long time, are expected to get Rs 3,000 crore each. The newly formed Gujarat and Lucknow teams will have to wait for some more time.

The remaining half is expected to be donated to players and state cricket associations. Accordingly, it is estimated that domestic and foreign players will get approximately Rs 6,290 crore and state associations approximately Rs 16,936 crore.
