by time news

South Korean automobile maker Hyundai Motor Company is developing a new electric car model to launch in the Indian market. An official of the company said in an interview with a private news agency that it plans to develop not only premium car models but also small electric cars.

Tarun Cork, Director, Sales and Advertising, Hyundai India, said:

“We are trying to use local products as much as possible and set the price as low as possible. The environment for this should be ready. There should be adequate facility for charging,” he added.

Electric vehicles make up less than one per cent of the total car sales in the Indian market. The federal government is intensifying efforts to increase this number to 30 percent by 2030.
