Abu Dhabi: The UAE has announced a four-day holiday to mark the Eid al-Fitr. The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources announced that federal government employees will receive four days’ leave.

According to the official announcement, government employees will be on leave from Friday, July 8 to Monday, July 11. Government institutions will resume operations on Tuesday, July 12 after the holidays.

Dul-Qadd, the last month of the Hijra calendar, ends on June 29, and the month of Dul-Hajj begins on June 30. The Feast of Sacrifice is celebrated on the 10th of Dul ​​Hajj in the Arabic month. The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced that the Feast of Sacrifice will be held in Oman on July 9. The Supreme Court had on Wednesday evening called for the observance of the new moon in Saudi Arabia.

Banks in Saudi Arabia have also announced Eid al-Fitr holidays. The Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) on Monday announced holidays for banks, their branches, affiliated offices and money exchange centers.

The Eid holiday will begin on July 6 with the end of work in the banks. The holiday runs until July 12. Operation will resume on the 13th after the holiday. However, during the holidays, the airport, the port of Jeddah, the offices of the banks and their seasonal branches in the holy places of Makkah and Madinah and in the border areas of the country will remain open to cater to Hajj pilgrims and other visitors.
