Thrissur: Three persons have been arrested in connection with the attack on a father and daughter from Thrissur during a train journey. Railway police arrested Joy, Sijo Anto and Suresh from Chalakudy. The first accused Joy was arrested from Wayanad.
Investigators said the defendants had no acquaintance. Investigations are continuing on suspicion that two more people were involved in the violence. When the police started the investigation, the accused switched off their mobile phones and went into hiding. Their houses were also under police surveillance.
Last Saturday night, a 16 – year – old girl boarded the Guruvayur Express from Ernakulam South to go to Thrissur. The girl’s father had lodged a complaint with the Human Rights Commission and the Child Rights Commission seeking action to arrest the accused.
