Kochi – R.Krishnaraj, the lawyer of gold smuggling accused Swapna Suresh, has been granted anticipatory bail in the case of blasphemy through social media. Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court granted bail. The Ernakulam Central Police filed a case on the complaint that the KSRTC bus driver’s picture was used to defame a religion through social media.
The court was approached with an application for anticipatory bail because the case was filed under the blasphemy section. The lawyer argued that the interest behind the case was revenge for appearing in court on behalf of Swapna Suresh. Krishnaraj’s stand was that he had not insulted any religion and was only sharing the picture he got from social media.
