Writer Khaled Hussaini shares an emotional note about his daughter becoming a transgender person. Khalid Hussaini writes that he has never felt so proud of his daughter as a father. He also said that daughter Harris has taught his family a great lesson about truth and courage. Those days were painful for her. But he also noted that she was strong and fearless.
“Yesterday, my daughter Harris became a trans person. I have never been more proud of her. She has taught our family so much about courage and truth. I know this process has been painful for her. She knows the struggles that trans people face every day. But, she is calm. At the same time, she is strong and fearless,” he said. Tweeted.
Khaled Hussaini was born in Kabul and immigrated to America in 1980. After some time he returned to Afghanistan. But later moved to Paris. Then he decided not to come back. His first novel ‘The Kite Runner’ became a bestseller. It was published in thirty-four countries.
He is proud to have two daughters. He was proud of Harris’ courage. Her courage to reveal her true self to the world is an inspiration to me. She taught us about living honestly.
