Washington: Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has said that he plans to donate his entire fortune to a charity. He also said that he wants to leave the list of the world’s richest people.
Bill Gates is an American. The 66-year-old was the richest man in the world from 1995 to 2017. He lost the top spot from 2010 to 2013. So Bill Gates is an influential person known all over the world. Even now he is on the fifth place in the list of the world’s richest people.
His net worth is USD 102.3 billion. In this case, he has said that he is planning to donate his property to the foundation. Gates said this through a tweet.
“People of the world are disheartened by the global setbacks of the past few years. Looking ahead, I plan to give away my entire wealth to charity. I want to leave the world’s richest list.
I have decided to give back my assets to make an impact and improve people’s lives by eradicating suffering. I owe it to you. I hope that many people in the same situation will join in the coming days,” he said.
It is also noteworthy that Bill Gates is giving his best to the society through his Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
As I look to the future, I plan to give virtually all of my wealth to the foundation. I will move down and eventually off of the list of the world’s richest people.
