Police seized ration rice smuggled in a van near Kovilpatti.
The police stopped a van passing by while conducting a vehicle check on the Kasavankunnu Lamp Road near Kovilpatti in Thoothukudi district. Police investigation revealed that a 17-year-old boy was driving the van. It was also revealed that 35 bags of ration rice were smuggled in the van.
Subsequently, the police seized the stolen ration bags and are interrogating the 17-year-old boy who was driving the van. The smuggled ration rice was handed over to the Anti Food Smuggling Unit police.
