New Jersey: Adani Group founder Gautam Adani has overtaken Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates on the world’s richest list. Forbes magazine reported this.
Gautam Adani is involved in industries like ports, airports, coal, power generation and real estate. His net worth is reported to be around 114.2 billion US dollars. The change comes as Bill Gates plans to donate $20 billion of his fortune to his foundation.
Currently, Gates’ net worth is reported to be 102 billion US dollars. So, he is ranked fifth. He is listed on Forbes website’s Real Time Billionaires list. Last February, Adhani overtook Mukesh Ambani to become the richest man in Asia.
Elon Musk, Bernard Arnold and family, Jeff Bezos, make up the top three on the Forbes list. Musk’s net worth is $230.8 billion. He is the only one in this list in the 200+ billion club. All others have lower property values.
“People of the world are disheartened by the global setbacks of the past few years. Looking ahead, I plan to give away my entire wealth to charity. I want to leave the world’s richest list.
I have decided to give back my assets to make an impact and improve people’s lives by eradicating suffering. I owe it to you. I hope many others in the same situation will join in the coming days,” Bill Gates had already said.
